Sundadanio axelrodi from western Sarawak

 

The Sundadanio axelrodi from western Sarawak is more yellowish and reddish compared to the same species I found in Kuching area which is more greenish/bluish.

All my S. axelrodi are died of white spot disease as I failed to lower down the water PH. However, my friend is successfully to keep this neon rasbora by lowering down the ph to 6.

The photos below are taken in his aquarium. All are wild caught fish from a blackwater river at western Sarawak.

When the fish is just collected, the colour is not so striking. You can see from the picture below that how small this fish is.

 

 

 

 

 

The habitat : A slow flowing blackwater stream (acidic water) in western Sarawak.

 

 

 

 

 

In blackwater stream not far away from Kuching city, I found this green variant of Sundadanio axelrodi. The fish below is wild caught one.
