SEMENGGOH WILDLIFE CENTRE
Semenggoh wildlife centre is located near Kota Padawan about 12miles in the southern part of Kuching. This is an Orang-Utan (Pongo pygmaeus) rehabilitation centre. Everyday, around 9am and 3pm, the ranger in the centre will feed the Orang-Utan. The most suitable period to see Orang-Utan is in between March-Octocber when the food in the jungle is less, they will come to the feeding ground to eat the fruits given by the ranger.


Monitor lizard (Varanus salvator) found near the jungle stream.

Estuarine crocodile (Crocodylus porosus ??) found inside the cage.

Common porcupines (Hystrix brachyura)

Orchid planted along the road in the centre. (Spathoglottis sp.)

Feeding ground for Orang-Utan.
