SAMA JAYA NATURE RESERVE

This is a small nature reserve nearest to Kuching city. The surrounding area of this nature reserve is a big housing estate. Although its a small "park", it is the popular place for Kuching folks to come here for jogging and cycling.

The timber museum is on the left "Bidayuh house" and on the right is forest biology museum. Bidayuh is the Land Dayak ( indigenous people )of Sarawak.

Outside the nature reserve is Tabuan Jaya housing estate.

There are about 10 Long tailed macaques living there. They could be the last group of monkey found in Kuching city.

When I'm feeling bore, I'll drive to this nature reserve( 5 minutes drive ) to see those tall trees.....magnificent trees!

About 1 year ago, the thunder storm pull down a lot of trees in this nature reserve.

The jungle beyond the fence will be gone soon due to the rapid development in Kuching area.
