Getting injury while exploring in the jungle is a small matter to me. However, today was considered the worst as I was bleeding for more than 18 hours !!!! I was being cut or stab by something on my waist. I did not feel any pain at all. When I was checking my equipment when I was leaving the waterfall at the foothill of Gunung Pueh, I found my white shirt near my waist became a red-colored shirt!
The blood was running out slowly through the wound. I thought it was the wound caused by the leech so I did not bother it so much.
3 hours later, I was sent to a local district hospital by my friend at Lundu town as I was still bleeding. The doctor failed to stop the bleeding & advised me to go back to Kuching city if it's still bleeding after the treatment.
Around 7pm, my another friend sent me back to Kuching to a hospital at down town. It was a busy day in the hospital. When they called me up, it was already 10.30pm. The doctor gave me medicine & cleaned my wound & asked me to check my blood if I'm still bleeding on the following day.
When I woke up, I was shocked to see that I did not recovered at all.... I was bleeding for the whole night. My mother who knows something about the herbs helped me to put some herbs on my wound & then I went to see another doctor. By 9am, I finally stopped bleeding. I believed I was healed by the herbs or what. On that day onwards, I realized the plants are very useful to us as most of them have pharmaceutical value.
