The fishes from mountain streams of Pahang

There are too many beautiful fishes in Peninsular Malaysia.....& I think I need to take at least 5 years to travel around my country to photograph those fishes.

During my last trip to Pahang, I spent half day to explore the rivers & mountain streams of Pahang. Below are some pictures I took during the trip:

A tributary of Sungai Pahang:

A forest stream of Pahang:

Hill stream catfish, Glyptothorax callopterus

Hill stream catfish has a species organ called "thoracic adhesive organ" which helps the fish to cling on the rock in the fast flowing stream.

The hill stream loach is much bigger & more beautiful than the one I found in Borneo. This one below is Homaloptera parclitella.

The under side of Homaloptera parclitella.

An unidentified species of hill stream loach, probably Homaloptera nigra.

The under side of Homaloptera sp.:

Rasbora elegans:

Luciosoma setigerum (in situ):

Flying fox, Crossocheilus sp. (most probably C. siamensis)

Flying fox, Crossocheilus sp. (same species as above):

I'm standing next to one of the biggest waterfalls in Pahang:

Darkness fall....it's time to go back to Kuala Lumpur city.
