Mammals of Borneo

The mammals in Borneo have been well studied. About 196 species have been recorded and 40 of them are endemic to Borneo !! About 167 mammals have been recorded in Sabah and Sarawak is 180 species of mammals. The rarest mammal is the Sumatran rhinoceros ....an endangered species! The elephant can be found in Eastern Sabah. It is an introduced species.
