Short note ;

(1) Pangio shelfordii is found very common in Southern Sarawak. This species has variable color pattern.

(2) Pangio semicincta is the second common in Southern Sarawak.

(3) Kottelatlimia pristes is mostly found in acidic water / blackwater stream & river.

(4) In Batang Kayan basin, juvenile of P. shelfordii is very similar to Pangio incognito. P. incognito is one of the smallest Pangio in Sarawak. It is not easy to differentiate these 2 species from the markings on the head. Due to the confusion, I took the picture of wrong fish  (juvenile of P. shelfordii) instead of the "real" P. incognito. Hence, I have to go back to the locality of P. incognito & photograph the "real" one in the near future.

(5) Most of the loaches sharing the same habitat of aquatic plant of genus Barclaya and Cryptocoryne.
