GUNUNG GADING OF LUNDU AREA
Date : March 26, 2006
In the ancient time, this mountain called Gunung Gading (965m / 2,946 feet) was risen up from the flat coastal plain of Southern Sarawak.
This trip was a bad hiking trip at the beginning of year 2006. The thunder
storm came just the moment I reached the summit of this mountain. It was cold &
wet, and I couldn't explore the lower montane forest of this mountain & forced
to descending 15 minutes later. It was very bad experience to walk in the jungle
trail during the rainfall as the trail became jungle stream. It was muddy and
slippery !! By the time I returned to the starting point, I was completely
exhausted, hungry and hardly could walk properly.
Photo below : This photo was taken at Batu Kawa new township, on the way back after my trip to Gunung Gading.
