HILL STREAM CATFISH OF SARAWAK- Glyptothorax cf major
This species of small sized catfish mostly found in flowing stream of Batang Kayan and Sungai Sarawak. The photos below are taken by my friend in Singapore, Mr Choy who is also the web master of hexazona.com . The fish was a gift to Mr Choy from me when I was travelling in Singapore in October 2004.
Previously we wrongly identified this species as Glyptothorax fuscus which is from Mekong river basin (Indo-China), not Sarawak.

Below are some photos taken by myself on my own wild betta fish (fighting fish):
Betta lehi from Batang Kayan. (found out recently that this only male Betta lehi has a green spot on the caudal fin)

Another picture of Betta lehi, named after Charles Leh. (The curator of Zoology at the Sarawak Museum)

Betta ibanorum, named after the Iban people of Sarawak. (Iban = Sea Dayak; indigenous people)

Betta taeniata of Sarawak.
