BAKO NATIONAL PARK
Besides Kubah National Park at Matang, this Bako National Park is the nearest park to Kuching city. It is the oldest national park in Sarawak. If you like the nature, you MUST come to visit this park! Since 1957, it has been a protected area, some wild animals are not shy to human. You can see wild boar, monitor lizard, squirrels, monkeys wondering around the hostel. You also can see different type of forest in this national park such as Kerangas forest and Mangrove forest. The jungle never sleep! At night, you can see the mushroom which can glow in the darkness and some predatory fauna come out to hunt for food. Don't worry, there is no tiger or large carnivorous animal in Borneo, so feel safe to wander around the jungle at night. It is fun and exciting!
