GUNUNG BABU

Location : western Padawan

 

Gunung Babu is a limestone hill. This is my first time to explore this area. I'll come back to go further deep into the jungle to search for rare species of flora & fauna.

Inflorescence of a species of terrestrial orchid, Plocoglottis acuminata. According to a botanist in Kuching, this species has an amazing 'mouse-trap' lip that flips the pollinator against the column.
