REVISIT ASSOM WATERFALL & EXPLORE SURROUNDING AREA
Date : November 27, 2005
Location : near Sarawak - Kalimantan Barat border
In this returning trip, two unhappy incidents happened.
First; one of my outdoor friends fell down from a broken bamboo bridge and luckily he managed to hang on the plants on the slope , else he may fall down into the ravine.
Second; on the way back, I stopped at a grocery shop in a village. I purchased a can of soft drink & after that two drunken villagers stopped me from leaving the shop. They forced me to help them to pay 6 cans of beer. One guy pulling my right arm & another guy push me and block my way out. I told them I don't have the money. The cashier (a little girl) looks frightened. I'm scared too but ready to defend myself if they want to fight or rob me. Two of my outdoor friends waiting outside the shop also stunned to see me being bully by that 2 drunk people.
I kept on pushing myself out & after struggling a while, I managed to get out & continuing to walk back. They were scolding me at the back & warned me for not stepping on their land again.
Majority of the villagers are very friendly, so I won't bother much of this incident.
On this returning trip, I finally reached the tallest waterfall but failed to find the way down, so I only managed to take the picture on the top of it. There are a lot of waterfalls & cascades on the top of Assom waterfall.
The trail to the top is very dangerous. If I make a small mistake, I may fall down to the deep ravine. Anyway, I love exciting adventure trip.
