Locality no. 2 - upper Sambas river basin
Sambas river is one of the river system in western Kalimantan. There is a small part of headwater located near Sarawak - Kalimantan Barat border.

Pipefish - Doryichthys martensii

According to Dr Tan H.H. from Raffles Museum of Singapore, this round cases are individual eggs containing a developing fish larva in each. The pouch that is holding the eggs is unique to the pipefish and only the males develop this structure. Analogous to the egg bag/pouch of the male seahorse.
Take note there is a mistake on what I wrote on the picture below; the small creature is not a juvenile but fish larva. (not yet hatch)
Nemacheilus saravacensis collected from the stream is keep inside the bottle contains either ethanol or formalin as a preserved specimen.
